90's Spring Breakin

I've been listening to a lot of Britney Spears lately ( oh baby baby)  and who didn't want to be B.Spears in the 90's!!! I still want to be Britney. But anyways,

So you've heard of the "Boyfriend" jeans right? Well, now there is the "Girlfriend" jeans! The cropped jeans for the curvier girls! It's not as baggy as the boyfriend jeans so it compliments curves. I just bought a pair from Express and I love them! Pair them with cute sandals and you're set!

Throw it back with a choker and a denim backpack and you've got Britney down!!

The Tough Girl Act

So I bought a Leather Jacket finally. And I haven't been the same since I slipped it on!! I feel like I found the perfect staple piece to express my sense of style! But I know that Motor Jackets can be a bit intimidating. They can be too hard and masculine for some. So to show its versatility I paired it with the cutest midi tutu skirt! The softness of the color and silhouette balances the hard structured jacket. I think I'm a minimalist when it comes to style, I really appreciate simplicity that pops so a basic cami with a few accessories does me justice here.  And I love these shoes by Munroeshoetique.com. It gives me Hollywood denim for some reason and I love it. So there you have it, The Tough Girl Act is complete!

Spring Planning

Just a few more weeks of winter and we are free! If you've been doing some retail therapy you might notice that everyone is already preparing for spring. New trends are hanging so effortlessly on the racks as you forcefully walk pass that $45 new handbag from H&M. I know between recovering from Xmas, buying textbooks, and Vday, $45 is not what it use to be. But its okay! Save up some coin for your pre-spring break wardrobe. Do some online shopping and see what's out there!. I'm loving the colour palette for this season, my favorite color right now is that toasted almond beige. Single Ladies Vday

All my single ladies! Put your hands up!
Yes it is that time of year again, the love birds are chirping and everyone is texting you, asking if you could pick up their shift on Valentine's Day because you're single. But no no no, not this time. Valentine's Day is about sharing your love and just because you don't have a BF doesn't mean you don't have love to share! Take yourself out for a drink...or 4. Go see a movie or a play. Buy yourself that cute bear and some chocolate... Or a diamond ring if you bossy like that. And even if you decide to stay in you can take a nice hot bath, pour some wine, paint your nails, and have some girl talk with Mariah, Whitney, Mary, Faith, Rih, and of course captian of the squad Mrs. Carter. Being single isn't a sin. Its not some rare condition that will end fatally. Nothing is wrong with you for being single. And the next time someone asks "why are you single" reply "because I choose to be"

I have a lot of experience in this department because I am an active member of the single ladies club. I like being single because I get to do whatever the fuck I want to. I get to imagine and plan for my life in the most extreme ways without worrying about if so so is okay with it. I'm not obligated to pick up anybody's call or respond to anyone's text. I can go on as many dates as I want, with whoever I want. I am single because I choose to be. This is what works for me. And if anyone has a problem with it they can find someone who gives a fuck because I don't :)

A Soft Rebel

This look was inspired by my up and coming project called 'New Girl'. I have noticed that the women of today are daughters and granddaughters of the pioneer women of the past. The women today are redefining every aspect of the word 'woman' and what it means to be a woman. Women today are embracing sexy and edgy. We are now empowering our fellow Female over coffee and tea at the 7am business meetings. We are CEO's of our own companies. We are wives with trophies, courtesy of our late nights and early mornings, dangling from our ears and wrist. We are mothers who carry life in our uterus while our stilettos carry us. We are women of today. Soon enough everyone will know the New Girl.

This looks expresses how classic ideas can be reinvented for the advancement of the culture. This classic silhouette was renewed and modernized by the plaid pattern. It feels familiar while still having that mystery factor. The shoes are a spin on a thick chunky heel that is mostly associated with grunge. The slim heel and peep toe plays on the  classic sandle usually paired with a dress with this silhouette. The clutch ties it all together and softens up the look. Bringing out the pastel hues in the pattern.

Pack Lite: Airport Chic

So we spend way too much time trying to pack the right things and we forget 2 things: 1) an outfit for the ride 2) that outfit should be able to work with everything you packed.

No matter how short or long your travel may be comfort is always a priority. You can be comfortable and cute at the same time. Switch out those tight jeans for a pair of black leggins. Leggins are life. They are so comfortable! Go for a nice draped tee.

Simple Chic

 For this look, I wanted to practice simplicity and chic. Sometimes a little bit goes a long way. My style icon for simple chic would have to be a cross between Rihanna and Blake Lively. This grey sweater dress is so simple yet super chic and sexy. I love the sihlouette and the boots are a perfect fit. The high low of this dress will show off this beautiful boot. I usually would go for a stud earring but I felt like the hoops would give a fashion forward flair. I love love love pairing polar opposites together. It makes for aa stronger fashion statement. :)

The New Silhouette

Hispter? Overratedddddd. Pop-star Glam? Overratedddddd. I don't know what you would call this look, but that's why I like it so much. It's orignal and it slays. Who would of thought yellow and plaid? Me!!

I think the best fashion advice (which is really just a rule of life) is to just do what feels right and whatever makes you feel like the best you. You become a style icon when you make fashion fit you, not when you try and fit into fashion.

Walkin' On Sunshine

I'm walking on sunshine! The days are growing short and the sun is hiding from me :(
That means I'm going to be all up in my feelings soon and I'm going to have to force myself out of bed. Around this time I start to feel extremely anxious and withdrawn. Fall/winter are my hibernation/planning seasons. I really try and focus on where I want to be in the next few years and  most of the time I let seasonal depression get the best of me.

I won't put much effort into myself, but this time around will be different. Every time I feel anxious, sad, tired, misplaced, and insecure I will call up my alter egos and give Kera a break.

This Look was inspired by all of the self-doubt you feel when you want to try something new. Fur? def out of my comfort zone. High-rise shorts may be out of your comfort zone. You might be afraid to wear bright pink lipstick. but do it! Shake it off and just do it. Give the boring you a break and get a little crazy  :)

We Wear PINK #BCA

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for this entire month I am going to add at least one pink item to my look. I've been wearing my nails pink for a few days, and I've also worn a Pink Lip occasionally.

Pink is a very loud color but don't be afraid of it! A little goes a long way. This look was vey grunge street and tough but add the pink bag and the look becomes softer.

Hello Autumn Lookbook #6

Ladies! Sorry it's been a few days, I'm still trying to get over this wicked cold. I didn't want to leave you girls hanging so I put together one last look for our Hello Autumn Lookbook.

This look was actaully inspired by ASAP Rocky's "Goldie" (check out my blog to hear the song) and my burning desire to live in California. I am giving you trendy, chic, classy, sexy, and sassy all at the same damn time!

I love what a flannel can do for a look but instead of the tired waist flannel I opted for a T-shirt dress ( cut a pair of old leggins into shorts just to preserve your modesity lol). The leather pocket turns this regular flannel into a statement piece. The shoes are perfect for this look and I love the leather and the Cut-Out at the foot. This time I went all out with the jewlery becuase we needed to bring some life to this look. Leather and Gold are like Peanut Butter and Chocolate, they just work better together. Finish this look up with a beautiful bold lip and you will slay for the gawds!

Hello Autumn Lookbook #5

Yay! It's Friday!! We made it ladies...well sorta, we still have to make it to 5:00pm (clickin' my heels three times). You most likely won't have time to go home and change out of your "work clothes" and into your "going-out clothes" so once again I am here to help!

Just becuase you might have to abide by a dress code doesn't mean you can't be on trend. My favorite things about this look is this beautiful rich orchid asymetrical top. It's so stunning and definitely the color of the season. Trade in your boring dress pants for a "jegging" like pant material to keep it classy and professional. Now this blazer has a very hard sihlouette but the pale ivory color softens it up and makes it day-time approprate. Not to mention it compliments the orchid top very well. Our shoes are of course from the fabulous, Munroe Shoetique, 'Wil' is a edgy twist to the classic pointy-toe pump and does wonders for this look.
Grab your favorite black bag and accessorize with glasses and GIRL! YOU DID THAT!!
